Armed siege ends peacefully

A siege that lasted more than a day has ended peacefully just north of Logan City.

The 25 hour stand-off began at a duplex near Banoon train station at Sunnybank about 11 am on Thursday.

Police said the armed man was taken into custody about 12:30 pm on Friday.

The man is understood to be related to the woman he was holding but police won’t confirm if there was a child involved.

He’s now under arrest and is assisting police.
