70’s cars popular at auction

A recent Logan City auction has found FORD motor-cars from the 1970’s continue to be the top sellers.

Recently,  a 1978 XC Cobra attractedthe highest price of $194,000.

A 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT was next best at $183,000, and a Ford Falcon XC Fairmont Coupe was third at $170,000

These vehicles actually cost around 10-thousand dollars,  when bought new back in the 70’s

The Grays auction saw 330 vehicles go under the hammer in one of Grays biggest auctions for classic cars.

A recent study has found prices for second-hand vehicles have jumped up to 35 per cent in the past year.

Analysts say this is due to fewer trade ins,   increased demand and the limited supply of new cars.
