The International Olympic Committee is working to ensure cities are no longer left financially devastated in the years after hosting the games.
It means Logan City will have some protections in place, when it comes to any new infrastructure being built, should South-East Queensland get the nod for the 2032 Olympic games.
Barton Green is one of the members with the Committee that’s involved in the Olympics bid.
He has said a lot of the infrastructure is already in place.
“There should be no infrastructure built unless it has permanent or long term purpose for the community, generally, So, it’s not a matter of building new stadia, unless it can be demonstrated that a new stadium is going to be something that’s part of the fabric of the community”.
