Fuel prices on the rise

We’re being urged to fill up now with petrol prices set to rise sharply across Logan City in the coming days.

More than 20 stations have already hiked their unleaded fuel prices up to just under one dollar 70 cents per litre.

RACQ spokesperson Lauren Ritchie says the cheaper prices will be gone by the weekend.

“Right now,  the average price at the pump is about $1.30 a litre.   Some retailers are offering something in the $1.20 range”.

She says it’s also being seen as high as $1.69.

“As prices go up,  those that are cheap won’t stay cheap for long”.

The RACQ’s advice is,   when filling up the tank aim for a retailer that is selling for around the $1.30 mark as the price cycle switches to the expensive phase.
