A man’s been sentenced to time behind bars for spitting in the face of a worker from Logan Hospital.
The 33 year old pleaded guilty in the Beenleigh Magistrates court to a variety of charges, with the judge describing the incident as a “despicable act”.
The court was told, the incident happened back in January when the man presented at the hospital with his partner, but security told him that covid restrictions prevented both of them from entering.
An altercation followed, resulting in the hospital worker being spat on.
He was sentenced to nine months jail, but could be released as early as July.
He was also given 12 months probation.
