A man jailed for life over the murder of a pregnant Logan City teenager has been granted a retrial by the state’s highest court.
Last year, Rodney Wayne Williams was convicted of murdering 16 year old Tiffany Taylor.
In 2015, the 65 year old arranged to met with her for sex in Waterford West.
Her body has never been found, but her blood was discovered in his car..
Queensland’s Court of Appeal has now quashed Mr Williams’ conviction and ordered a retrial.
It found, the jury was improperly directed about the law relating to intent.. And therefore denied the man a fair chance of acquittal.
Mr Williams is now waiting for a date for the retrial to be set.
He’s always maintained he’s innocent of the crime.
