The Head of Queensland’s Crime and Corruption Commission Alan MacSporran has denied any wrong doing in the lead up to fraud charges being laid on members of the former Logan City Council.
He’s told a daylong Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee hearing, the charges were laid by police after they were given all the evidence from the Triple C.
He told yesterday’s hearing, he had assessed all evidence brought to him and believed the charges were founded.
The councillors, including ex-mayor Luke Smith were charged with fraud in 2019 after voting to sack Logan’s former chief executive.
The fraud charges were dropped four months ago.
The hearing continues.
