A man has been shot by police at the scene of a traffic hazard on the Logan Motorway at Drewvale, just west of Berrinba.
Police were called to the scene just after 6 o’clock Thursday morning and say officers were confronted by the man, who was believed to be armed.
He was shot by officers and his condition is unclear.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
“Eastbound lanes are closed due to a police incident. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes as extensive delays are expected,” Queensland police said.
