A second truck driver with COVID-19 increases concerns over spread of the virus

Queensland Health is urging Darling Downs residents to get tested for COVID-19 after another truck driver tested positive for the virus.

The truckie who is from the Logan City suburb of Windaroo had travelled from Sydney before arriving in Queensland last Saturday.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk  has told state parliament urgent contact tracing is underway.

The other truck driver drove into Queensland on Tuesday August 25 and returned to New South Wales the next day while he was still infectious.

Exposure sites have emerged in Goondiwindi, the Ipswich suburb of Bundamba and Archerfield in Brisbane.

Health authorities have issued close contact alerts for the amenities and dining section of a BP Truckstop in Goondiwindi , a BP Service Station in Archerfield and the Puma Service Station in Bundamba.
