A concert to boost the spirits of Scenic Rim residents will be staged at the Boonah Cultural Centre on the 26th of this month.

The “We Will Rise”” concert aims to help communities recover from the impacts of catastrophic natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will feature Brisbane-based Aria Award-nominated indie quintet Topology.

Topology’s original music reflects its members’ contemporary concerns, underscored by strength and hope.

“We Will Rise” highlights the strength and resilience of the arts sector, which has been hard hit economically, and music’s intrinsic power to inspire and heal.

The Boonah concert will feature John Babbage (composer, saxophone), Robert Davidson (composer, double bass),Bernard Hoey (composer, viola), Therese Milanovic (piano) and Christa Powell (creative director, violin).

“At certain times in our lives we are faced with a unique situation where we need to take stock and reflect,” said Christa.

Established in 1997 and Resident Artist at Brisbane Powerhouse for 18 years,

Topology was nominated for a 2014 ARIA Award for the Share House album.

With a reputation for signature work, the quintet experiments with surprising combinations of musical genres, theatrical staging, and cross art form collaborations to create exciting musical experiences for audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and tastes.
