A two day coronial inquest begins today to piece together the final hours of murdered Logan City schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
It will also focus on determining how the 12 year old was killed by her foster father Rick Thorburn in 2015.
Almost six years after the 12-year-old Logan City schoolgirl was murdered, her foster father will finally be forced to reveal how he killed the schoolgirl.
Thorburn is currently serving a life sentence.
After years of lying to detectives and protesting his innocence while in custody, he eventually pleaded guilty in 2018.
At the time, the Supreme Court heard he had murdered Tiahleigh after he discovered one of his sons had committed incest and it was feared she was pregnant.
The inquest will focus on determining the “actions he took” on the night she died, and exactly what happened to her.
His son Trent Thorburn was jailed for incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice but has since been released.
His wife Julene Thorburn and their younger son were also charged, after lying to police about what they knew about her death.
All four members of the Thorburn family will be forced to give evidence to the coroner, as well as a homicide detective who investigated her death.
