The state government is offering four commuters free travel on public transport for an entire year.
The move is aimed at boosting patronage on trains and buses.
As an example, a lucky Logan City winner would then be able to travel from Loganlea station to Brisbane Central by train for free.
The cost of travel from Logan City into the Brisbane CBD would normally cost a commuter more than $3,000 to get to and from work.
Those wanting to go into the draw can register for the Golden Go Card from today, with one lucky commuter being announced each Friday for the next four weeks but you must be a registered Go Card user.
Transport Minister Mark Bailey says patronage on public transport is sitting at around 70 per cent of pre-COVID levels
“The Gold Card promotion is just part of a wider push to get more workers back into the CBD and supporting small businesses in southeast city centres at the tail end of the week.
“This is about encouraging more Queenslanders to support retailers and hospitality workers as we continue the state’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Mr Bailey says the Golden Go Card lottery comes just ahead of restrictions being relaxed for those who want to take bikes and e-scooters on peak hour trains from July 1, as part of a six-month trial.
