Police remain vigilant across Logan City and Scenic Rim as part of “Operation Tango Anaconda”.
The campaign is targetting drug driving, but also detecting other dangerous driving behaviours on regional roads.
Acting Inspector Paul Algie expressed disappointment at the results from the operation so far.
“On average, we’re still seeing one in every five drivers return positive results for drug driving.
“If you’re driving with a drug in your system, you’re 10 times more likely to be responsible for a crash. Every decision you make on our roads has a consequence.
“No matter where you are in Queensland, you can expect to see us.”
The roadside saliva-based sample tests for THC, methylamphetamine and MDMA.
In a recent crackdown by Beaudesert police, officers say they were disappointed that so many motorists were found to be drink driving or drug driving between 9am and 10am during a recent roadside campaign.
“We will be out in force at anytime of the day” on office said after the blitz.
The crackdown is exepected to continue well after the Easter period.
