The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has winched a woman from a mountain, in the Scenic Rim region, after she reportedly suffered a medical episode while bushwalking..

It’s believed the woman, aged in her 60s, had been attempting to climb Mount Barney on Wednesday afternoon, when she suffered suspected heart palpitations.

Due to the her location, it was decided a chopper was the fastest way to provide the patient with urgent medical attention.

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic, were initially winched down to the patient.

While the woman was being assessed, the helicopter pilot was able to land the aircraft in a nearby paddock.

A short time later, the chopper returned to the mountain and hoisted the patient to safety.

See the rescue below:

She was accompanied by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue QAS Flight Paramedic.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor was then winched to the helicopter.

The woman was flown to the Mater Hospital, in Brisbane, in a stable condition.
