The continuing pressure from the Australian Federal Government on the proposed media bargaining laws has led social media giant Facebook to block users from receiving news via the platform, including some government organisations pages.
But, the move has not impacted the services offered by this website “My News Feed” as well as REBEL 90.5FM and BREEZE 92.1FM.
General Manager Cheryl Jowitt says our local news and advertising has not been impacted.
“We’re in a strong position with My News Feed, radio and our community platforms to continue local news content and advertising opportunities” she said.
News Editor Scott Mayman also weighed in. “Local council information, community groups and associations can still deal directly with us and we can still immediately get their message across”.
“We are committed to providing local news and community content across our local region”.
