The RSPCA is in urgent need of volunteer drivers to transport animals throughout the state.
While the trips in the Brisbane area tend to be shorter, those in the regions can involve at least four to five hours driving.
“We constantly need to transport animals from shelter to shelter and in Townsville for example, where we no longer have a shelter, they might need to go to Cairns, Mackay and in some cases Brisbane,” said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty.
“So if you’re re passionate about animal welfare and looking for a rewarding volunteer role then this could be a perfect fit.”
RSPCA Qld is responsible for the care of over 50,000 animals annually and everyday animals are moved between campuses, pound facilities, rehoming centres, vet surgeries and carers
“Of course you’ll have a genuine hands on experience in helping animals find a new home and you’ll be part of a friendly passionate team that truly believes in animal welfare.”
