MOVIES IN THE PARK, SATURDAY 6TH
Locals can enjoy an evening of free family fun under the stars this Saturday 6th, as the Scenic Rim Regional Council hosts Movies in the Park.
This weekend’s event will be held at Coronation Park in Boonah, with screening beginning at 6.30pm. Council will also be holding another two Movie Nights consecutively on Saturday 13th March at Geissmann Oval, Tamborine Mountain, and Saturday 20 March at Jubilee Park, Beaudesert.
Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the early evening events…were not only for families but also aimed to bring members of the community of all ages together in a relaxed setting.
“Whether you’re young or just young-at-heart, these free events are a wonderful way to connect with others in your local community,” he said.
Council will be hosting the free movie and providing free fruit and giveaways, so movie-goers need only bring their own chairs and blankets. Local service clubs will be also selling food and drinks at each location.
This week’s movie is the 2020 screen hit ‘Dolittle’, rated PG. The movie stars actor Robert Downey Jnr as Dr John Dolittle.
COVID-safe plans are in place for each of the events and participants will be encouraged to continue to maintain social distancing.

FLEETWOOD MAC TRIBUTE & KARAOKE
The Greenbank RSL at Hillcrest is at it again. Logan City locals can look forward to Heat 5 of the ‘Rockaoke’ competition in The Schweppes Pepsi Max Lounge from 8pm as contestants take to the stage for a karaoke competition with a twist!
Saturday 6th will also have a live tribute show ‘Fleetwood Mac’ playing the songs of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac in The Schweppes Pepsi Max Lounge from 6pm. Entry is free for Greenbank RSL members. There is limited seating due to capacity levels, so get in early to avoid disappointment.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY, SUNDAY 7TH
This Sunday 7th is Clean Up Australia Day, the nationally recognised event that began 30 years ago, encourages communities to come together to help clean up and conserve our environment.
Logan City Council will be hosting a clean-up site in partnership with Logan Youth Action Group, which will be held at Logan River Parklands at Beenleigh from 9am to 2pm this Sunday.
The day will include a Watch out for Waste presentation, educational materials and a free sausage sizzle for participants. The event is a reminder of the importance of preventing rubbish from entering the environment and taking the time to pick up any litter.
There are more than 40 Clean Up Australia Day events listed throughout the City of Logan with locations available on the Clean Up Australia Day official website.
Numerous Council parks and reserves are included in the event and the community is invited to participate to help clean up the City of Logan.
