Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy has taken to social media to confirm flash flooding in Beenleigh.
“The heavy rain over the past hour has caused some localised flooding in Division 12 so please be careful on our roads,” Cr Murphy said.
“Remember if it’s flooded forget it.
“I’ve been out to check on the low-lying areas of our division making sure everyone is okay. I’ve checked in on The Sewing Lair which has experienced some flooding and just on my way to check the situation out in Eagleby now.
“Please be mindful in the coming days our roads may be damaged due to the water and the grass will be growing exponentially. Council’s roads and parks team will be out to proactively fix these issues but we need your help!
“You can report damaged roads, pot holes, overgrown grass on footpaths and parks on council’s website, call, email or using the City of Logan App.”
“The rain is likely to stay so please stay safe on our roads and drive to the conditions.”
