More than four thousand homes and businesses across Logan City are without power this Tuesday afternoon.

Energex crews are out in force trying to get the lights back on,  but the rain is causing delays.

Spokesman Danny Donald says they’re working on it.

“We have a lot of sodden tree root systems and tree branches are waterlogged.

“Now the winds have started we are now seeing these being brought over powerlines”.

Yarrabilba is the worst of the areas to lose power with more than 2,000 consumers without supply

Another 1,400 are blacked out across Bahrs Scrub.

The remaining areas include Beenleigh, Holmview, Heritage Park, Slacks Creek and Logan Reserve.

There’s no time-frame on when repairs will wrap up because of rain delays.

Many Logan City roads remain closed.    Council vehicles have spent the day doing spot checks of road conditions and will continue to check the integrity of local roads through out the week.   A list of Logan City road closures and hazards can be found HERE.
