Clean up help needed.

Some communities within Logan City and the Scenic Rim are still cut off by floodwaters – including Logan Reserve.

Residents in the flood zone have no option but to travel by boat or kayak to get food and medical supplies.

A moderate flood warning remains in place for the Logan River,  as a lengthy clean up operation gets carried out this weekend.

“The water has started to fall – but very slowly” according Luke Helm – Meadowbrook Golf Club Golf Course Superintendent

He says 18 greens remain under water on Friday.

“As the water recedes from the greens and tees it will leave behind mud/silt and debris which need to be washed off ASAP.

Obviously we don’t have enough man power to achieve this as quickly as we should”.

He’s put the call out for help for anyone who could assist by donating some time over the coming fortnight.

How many people and when we need them will emerge as the water goes down. Probably starting Monday.

If you can assist, Luke is encouraging you to call 0411 395 531 or leave your details at the Pro Shop.
