Soldiers are being deployed to the border zones with New South Wales to help Queensland police guard the checkpoints.
One hundred and twenty members of the Australian Defence Force will join police at the checkpoints at the request of Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
Police numbers have also been boosted to enforce the restrictions.
