A critically injured man has been airlifted to hospital overnight, after he was involved in a single vehicle accident, on the outskirts of Toowoomba.
It’s believed the man was the passenger in a vehicle, which veered off the side of a dirt road and crashed into a small brick structure.
The rescue helicopter was called into action at 9:45 last night.
The pilot was able to land close to the scene, on a stretch of road which had been closed by police.
Paramedics were treating several patients, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter arrived.
The aeromedical team worked alongside local emergency services to treat the man, aged in his 20s, for traumatic injuries, before he was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a critical condition.
He travelled under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a paramedic.
