A Logan disability support carer has been found guilty of strangling a 17 year old disabled boy with the intellectual capacity of a preschooler in ‘a moment of frustration’.
Fifty year old Dianne Joy Kelly from Jimboomba, faced a three-day trial at the Beenleigh District Court where she pleaded not guilty to strangling the now 21 year old disabled boy when he was in her care.
Kelly was found guilty of strangling the disabled boy with his bandana or drool-bib, in what may have been a moment of frustration for at least 20 seconds causing his face to turn a reddish purple colour and leaving red marks on his neck.
In court Miss Kelly said she didn’t do it.
She was remanded in custody overnight, and will be sentenced today in the Beenleigh District Court.
