Police hunting for smash and grab thieves after an overnight raid on five businesses

Police are investigating a break and enter spree at five businesses on the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane which are believed to be linked.

Around 1.45am today the front doors of a bowls club on Middle Street in Cleveland were forced open causing significant damage.

The six occupants of a silver 2017 Lexus and white 2016 Subaru Outback were seen leaving the area a short time later.

Around 45 minutes later a licensed business on Peachey Road at Ormeau was broken into.

Once inside the same people damaged a number of poker machines and cash was taken.

They then left the scene in the vehicles.

Fifteen minutes after that the rear doors of a William Street club in Beaudesert were forced open and a number of poker machines were damaged

The masked thieves then stole cash and bottles of alcohol before fleeing in the Lexus and Subaru.

An hour later police say the occupants of the same two vehicles smashed through the front glass doors of a licensed premises on Tamborine Oxenford Road at Wongawallan where they damaged poker machines and removed a sum of cash and alcohol.

And just before 5am police believe occupants of the same two vehicles then smashed their way into a licensed premises on Pascoe Road at Ormeau.

Once inside the group again damaged a number of poker machines and cash was taken.

They then left the scene in the two vehicles.

The group then dumped both vehicles at the end of Ada Street, Coopers Plains before setting them both alight and fleeing the scene in a black SUV on nearby Delph Street.

Police have established the vehicles used in these incidents were stolen from Algester and Mount Warren Park on  Monday, November 29.
