In light of the current increase in COVID-19 cases in South-East Queensland, Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Australia Day Awards presentation planned for next Wednesday has been postponed to a date to be determined.
The measure is in response to the Australian and Queensland Governments’ latest COVID-19 recommendations.
Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen says while disappointing, the postponement will help keep the Scenic Rim community safe and help prevent the further spread of the virus in the community.
All nominees and nominators have been contacted to let them know of the postponement.
Citizenship ceremonies – 26 January 2022
Australian Citizenship Ceremonies will go ahead on Australia day at the new venue, The Centre, 82 Brisbane Street, Beaudesert.
A total of 27 residents will become new Australian citizens during two ceremonies at 10am and 1pm.
All invitees entering The Centre Beaudesert will need to check in via the Check-In Qld QR Code displayed at the centre’s entry and show proof of vaccination or certified medical exemption.
