Following another crash involving motorbikes, Logan Police are issuing yet another plea for motorists and motorcyclists to be safe on the roads this year.

Logan Police say initial investigations reveal the motorbikes were overtaking vehicles at speed and driving dangerously, including lifting the front wheel from the roadway and travelling on the rear wheel, resulting in the rear motorbike colliding with the other motorbike, both crashing and leaving the road.
The two men, aged 24 and 25, were injured with members of the public stopping to assist and provide first aid until emergency services arrived on scene. Both riders were transported to hospital with leg, neck and spinal injuries.
In February 2021, 13 motorcyclists died on our roads, and Logan Police want to make sure this does not happen this year.
Below are motorcyclist crash figures from 1 January – 29 March, 2021:
- Almost all (91%) of riders were male
- half of fatalities (50%) occurred from Friday night to Sunday,
- the rider was at fault in almost three quarters (73%) of crashes
- 93% of crashes involved excess speed for the conditions
