There is a hive of construction underway across Logan City, with several major Council projects expected to be completed this year.
Projects expected to be completed this year include the Kingston Butter Factory Redevelopment, renewal of the outdoor pool at the Logan North Aquatic Centre, the Yarrabilba Community Centre, while significant works will be carried out on the Queens Road Redevelopment this year.
Kingston Butter Factory Redevelopment – KBF Building – Living Museum and Theatre ($22M)
This project had several COVID-19 related delays including material shortages.
All materials are now available and due for installation in early 2022.
Although the construction works are not fully completed, much of the building is finished and some client fit-out is occurring.
The project is due for completion in March.
Logan North Aquatic Centre – Renewal of Outdoor Pool ($9M)
Construction works have been progressing well albeit significantly impacted by the rain.
The demolition has been completed, pool base has been completed and equipment has been ordered.
The project is expected to be completed by June of this year.
Yarrabilba Community Centre ($7M)
Earthworks have been completed and under slab services have been installed.
Footing and slab concreting commenced in January.
The project is expected to be completed by July this year.
Queens Road Redevelopment ($18M)
Construction works are under way with the first stage of the project consisting of civil works and parking.
Works have been delayed by the considerable wet weather experienced in November and December.
This project is being delivered in stages to allow the site to continue operating during construction.
The project is due for completion in late 2023.
Expected completion times are subject to wet weather and the unknown implications of COVID-19 related delays.
