Hollywood stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts were spotted filming their latest film at Mount Tamborine this week.
Ticket to Paradise is an upcoming American romantic comedy film, starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kaitlyn Dever, and Lucas Bravo.
There was a mixed reactions from residents on production taking place locally.
Natasha Gillan says she saw the film set at the sports ground.
“My kids had football yesterday (Wednesday), the sports ground was absolutely packed.
“They were filming while we were there, but we couldn’t really see anything because of all the lighting screens.”
Regina Lee says there was a lot happening in the area.
“Extra security and the paparazzi tried sneaking in, so many lorries and gear.”
Janet Green says she wasn’t phased by their presence.
“It must be so annoying having people trying to gawk at you while you work, they’re just people.”
Filming resumed recently, after the Omicron outbreak in Queensland put a pause to production earlier this year.
The production is expected to inject $47 million in expenditure into the Australian economy and create more than 270 jobs for local cast and crew.
The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures on October 21, 2022.
