Chaz Mostert ready for Supercars season

Browns Plains raised Supercars driver Chaz Mostert is hopeful ahead of this year’s championship, after his strongest season to date.

In preparing for the new season, Mr Mostert, tested his Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden Commodore at Winton Motor Raceway yesterday.

The test day comes off the back of his second Bathurst win in December, which propelled him into third place in last year’s championship standings.

In a commanding performance, Mr Mostert secured pole position and the lap record, before going onto lift the Peter Brock Trophy alongside co-driver Lee Holdsworth.

Mr Mostert says he is excited for the year ahead.

“It’s awesome to finally show off the wheels for 2022, the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 looks amazing.

“I can’t wait to get the year underway.”

Walkinshaw Andretti United took the test day as an opportunity to announce Fabian Coulthard and Warren Luff as its co-driver line-up for this year’s Great Race.

Mr Mostert’s co-driver will be confirmed closer to the Bathurst 1000.

The first round of the 2022 Supercars Championship will take place at Sydney Motorsport Park from March 4 to 6.
