Mostert to race with Logan in mind

Browns Plains raised Supercars driver Chaz Mostert will be thinking of flood-affected Logan this weekend, as racing gets underway.

The 2022 Supercars season kicks-off this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It come as his hometown of Logan City was struck by the worst floods in four decades.

To help flood victims, Mr Mostert says he will donate all profits from merchandise sales this month to Foodbank.

“It’s hard to focus on this weekend when our mates back home in Queensland are doing it so tough with the floods.

“I have been trying to think about what I can do to help.

“For all of my merchandise sales this month, I’m going to send 100 per-cent of the profits to Foodbank to help out.

“If anyone else has any ideas on what else we can do I’m all ears.

“You can donate direct as well to Foodbank, who are all working hard to get everyone back on track.”

Mr Mostert is heading into the weekend off the back of a Bathurst 1000 win, after his strongest season to date.

He says he is excited to get the year underway.

“Man it’s good to be back, I can’t wait to get back behind the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25.

“It’s been a great off-season, especially after how last year finished, but everyone turned their attention to 2022 pretty quickly, making sure we start the year on the front foot.

“As they say, everyone starts the weekend on zero points, so we’re looking to bank a heap of points early.

“There’s a lot of factors at play this weekend, like the Super Soft and the weather, so lets see how it all goes.”

Mr Mostert has a great track record at Sydney Motorsport Park, collecting seven podiums and two wins at the 3.93 km circuit.
