Ever got up close to a nurse shark? Or felt the slimy skin of a sting ray?
Kids will get a kick out of Loganholme’s Shark and Ray Gardens which treats them to an up-close and personal encounter with a range of sting rays, sharks and even star fish.
I was lucky enough to take part in the shark and ray encounter with my two boys, 5 and 6 years old, and they loved it.
“It was a bit scary [at first], but it was so much fun when I got to touch the shark!,” my eldest son says.
Paul, owner of Shark and Ray Gardens on Beenleigh Redland Bay Road, Loganholme, is encouraging locals to come along and visit the gardens these holidays to not only see these magnificent creatures, but also learn about each of them and their environments.
“We’re a family owned business, we’ve been here since May 2017, and we’re waiting for you to come and visit us,” Paul says.
“We offer a fully-interactive marine experience with sharks and sting rays, which we can do in the water, or sitting on the side of the pool.
“So come on down, and enjoy the experience.”

If getting inside the water with these sea creatures is a little overwhelming for you or your kids, you can take a seat from the side, and still touch each shark and ray.
