Federal funds give Community Centre a boost

The Twin Rivers Community Centre at Eagleby has been given $12,000 in funding from the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Grant program.

The Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, Stuart Robert visited the  facility yesterday to deliver the good news.

“It is so satisfying to be able to help an organisation that does so much to assist others.”

“The Twin Rivers Centre plays a vital role in the Eagleby Community, supporting those who  need it most.”

“Testament to its success is that it has not only survived, but thrived, since it was established  30 years ago.”

The funds will finance an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) upgrade and a new shade sail.

Federal Member for Forde, Bert Van Manen, who is a long-time supporter of Twin Rivers, accompanied the Minister to hand over the cheque.

Mr van Manen says,“Twin Rivers does incredible work, helping hundreds of people every week throughout the Eagleby community.”

“Among the programs they offer is employment training, a food outlet, community café and church programs.”

The Twin Rivers Centre’s mission is to ‘Connect, Build and Equip people for success in all areas of life.
