As time ticks down on the federal government’s looming Jobkeeper cuts, a Queensland Labor Senator says almost 22,000 workers in Logan could be worse off.

Senator Murray Watt claims around $19-million will be ripped out of the local economy every two weeks if the Morrison government goes ahead with its cuts to JobKeeper.

He says as many as 5,700 JobKeeper businesses in the Forde electorate could be affected by the planned funding cuts.

“Our community needs and deserves a comprehensive jobs plan to set us up for the recovery and the future,” said Senator Watt.
