The number of COVID-19 cases in Logan is continuing to rise with no sign of the virus going away anytime soon.
Total cases in the city have jumped from 40,046 yesterday to 40,175 in the last 24 hours.
Currently there are 56,618 active cases across the state, after Queensland Health reported 9,650 new cases in the 24-hour reporting period leading up to today
More than 1,000 people are in hospital with the virus and over a third of those patients are in the care of Metro South Health, which covers Logan, Redlands and the Scenic Rim.
