There have been no surprises in the six electorates across Logan City and the Scenic Rim in the wake of the weekend’s state election with all sitting members assured of retaining their seats.

In Woodridge, where the ALP sitting member Cameron Dick is assured of being returned, he held 68% of the vote from Saturday night’s tally.

Labor’s Mick De Brenni has claimed victory in the seat of Springwood. The ALP holds 49% of the vote ahead of the LNP’s Kirrly Boulton on 34%, while One Nation’s Glen Cookson took 5% of the vote.

Linus Power has been returned in the electorate of Logan. He says his first task will be to ensure that the ALP comes good with its election promises such as upgrading the Mt Lindesay Highway.

In Macalister, the ALP’s Melissa McMahon has won convincingly, as has Labor’s Shannon Fentiman in the seat of Waterford.

One Nation candidate in Waterford Kim Miller says he’s disappointed with the result and won’t be running for a third time.

And in the Scenic Rim, the LNP’s Jon Krause was the clear winner on Saturday night.
