Logan City Councillor raising funds and awareness this Movember

This month Logan City councillor Tony Hall has shaved off his infamous beard to grow a moustache for Movember, and raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

“My beard has been something of debate and contention in my term as a councillor,” he said.

“Some people love it, some people hate it, and some people love to hate it.

“I’ll no longer be sporting my lovely manly beard at the start of November.

“I’ll be going to a Logan barber shop to shave it off and grow a gentlemanly moustache in support of Movember.”

Cr Hall said it was a worthy cause that was close to his heart.

“Movember is a charity aimed at bringing awareness to men’s health,” he said.

“Because the problem with men is that we don’t like to speak about our health unless it’s a sporting injury or something we’ve done on a motorbike.

“And for this reason men quite often die by things that could have been avoided by getting help earlier.

“I’m talking about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. The things that we don’t like to talk about and the things that we never discuss; but we should.

“What I’d like to ask the men of Logan is to come along on this journey with me and to grow a moustache for Movember.”

Cr Hall has also asked locals to donate here.
