Logan City locals now have options to get their hands on free anti-theft screws for car registration plates.
Springwood Police beat officers are handing out anti-theft screws for Logan City local’s car registration plates at Arndale Shopping Centre today.
Cr Lisa Bradley took to social media to spread the word and encourage locals to come along and meet Senior Constable Rob Whitehead and Senior Constable Mike McDonald, who were handing out the screws.
“Anti-theft screws can be installed on your car’s registration plates from 9am at Arndale Shopping Centre,” Cr Bradley said.
“Anti-theft screws are a special type of ‘one way’ screw which when used to attach your registration plate to your vehicle, can only be removed with a specially designed tool.
“This special removal tool is not sold to members of the public and can only be used by police officers.”
Cr Bradley said not to worry if you can’t make it today.
“If you cannot make this time, City of Logan residents are able to order online FREE anti-theft screws,” she said.
“Or visit your local police station.”
