This week Logan City farewelled local Laurel Anne Chapman, who tragically perished in a unit fire earlier this month.

Loui Naumovski from Logan House Fire Support Network said the funeral service was bittersweet.

“We were there to show our support and help out with arranging the funeral,” he said.

“We farewelled a beautiful woman…who tragically lost her life in a unit fire on Ewing Rd, Logan Central.

“You could tell there was a lot of love in the room. There were lots of tears and even some laughter.”

Mr Naumovski said he was sharing this information with the consent of her family.

Used with permission.

“She was a loving mother and nanna,” he said.

“They (her family) would like the public to know who the woman was behind the tragic story.

“To Karen, Michelle and Wayne, it was a beautiful service celebrating the life of your mum.

“They (the family) wish to pass on thanks to all of the emergency services that attended the scene that dreadful morning.”

Mr Naumovski also shared some kind words from her family.

“I pray heaven is everything you dreamt it to be,” they wrote.

“I pray you’re safe and free of pain and have met up with your loved ones.

“And I pray you have heard every word I have said.

“To my darling mum, I will love you forever, so be safe until we meet again.

“Forever our loving mum and nanna.”
