Daisy Hill Koala Centre and Conservation Park are now back open to the public after previously shutting their doors in line with Queensland’s Covid-19 measures.
Entry is free of charge, but guests must make a booking to ensure that the capacity of the facility is not exceeded.
Wildlife Officer Kristen Garnett said “We are back open now, but people who want to visit should book their free tickets online.
“When you first walk in, there’s a large outdoor koala enclosure where you can view them from a lower and upper boardwalk. we unfortunately don’t allow touching of koalas here, but you can get a pretty close look at them”
“We have four female koalas, their names are Aretha, Molly, Kyra and we welcomed a new koala over the Covid closure period, and her name is Kirsty, we also have one male koala named Jordan”
Now is a great time to go and visit the Koala Centre as it is currently koala breeding season and guests may even be able to see Jordan bull roaring and Kirsty is showing signs that she is ready to breed.
The centre has been fortunate to have seen major investment with 3.3 million dollars being used to upgrade the facilities ahead of the previous Commonwealth Games and recent upgrades also taking place not too long ago, Kristen has also said that further upgrades to the park will be coming soon so guests should stay tuned.
