Get talking about healthcare closer to home

The Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network (PHN) is seeking feedback from residents about their experience with accessing health care services in the region.

The PHN launched a community engagement campaign entitled TALK ABOUT at the beginning of 2020 as a way of asking the community about their experience with healthcare in the region.

The Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network has launched a short confidential online survey for community members, carers and health professionals to provide feedback on their experience, including barriers to accessing care.

Every quarter, the PHN chooses a topic of focus and asks participants through an online survey to talk about what they think is working well and what they think could be done better.

PHN Chief Executive Officer Merrilyn Strohfeldt says the PHN has a keen interest in better understanding barriers to people accessing the care they need, particularly people living in regional areas and people needing care outside typical hours of operation for businesses.

“We want to hear from people in the community who can provide information about their experience accessing health care in the Darling Downs and West Moreton region.”

“Through the information collected, we are hoping to better understand how people access the care they need, and why they may not access the care they need.”

“We are also looking at ways to assist with potentially preventable emergency department presentations and how we can support people to access the care when they need it and where they need it.”

The short confidential online survey is currently open and will close at midnight on Sunday, 28 November 2021.

Information gathered through the survey is used to inform the PHN’s Health Needs Assessment (HNA). The HNA is a guiding document used by the organisation to make decisions about what programs to fund and where to fund them.
