Beenleigh locals were treated to the unveiling of its City Centre’s newest streetscape additions over the weekend, which stretch from Kent Street through City Road and John Lane.
New garden beds and trees, creative lighting and custom-design directional signs are amongst the streetscaping improvements unveiled in one of Logan’s oldest city centres.
Born-and-bred Beenleigh local Tabitha Martini joined the unveiling on Friday. She says she thinks the streetscape it beautiful.
“It’s definitely changing the face of the street and the atmosphere of the street,” Tabitha says.
“It’s very vibrant and young, and definitely somewhere you want to go.
“I think it’s Instagram-worthy, I think it’s very cute. I love it. It was a facelift that was very much needed.”
Councillor Karen Murphy, who was also at the unveiling on Friday says the new streetscape made the City Centre a vibrant, safe and colourful place for the community to use.
“It’s a really good opportunity for the community to come down here and see our city centre,” Cr Murphy says. “Its open for business.”
“We use this space for lots of different community events, the cane festival, night markets, which will start back up soon, movie nights, and heaps more.
