According to weekend newspaper reports, small and medium businesses would get “first bite” of estimated 8-point-6 billion-dollars worth of trade opportunities – to help deliver the games.
The International Olympic Committee has elevated Brisbane to preferred host for the 2032 games.
The Olympics are expected to create 130-thousand jobs, generate 20 billion dollars in international visitor spending and eight point six billion dollars in trade opportunities.
Joint Chairs of the Federal Parliamentary Friends of the Olympic Movement in Australia, Bert van Manen, (MP for Forde) and Graham Perrett, (MP for Moreton) hailed the announcement by the international Olympic Committee (IOC) that South East Queensland has moved to ‘Targeted Dialogue’ stage for the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics.

“This is the only bid with this status, and it represents the final phase of the bidding process before a host city is announced,” Mr van Manen said.
