Logan City Council is continuing its preparations for summer by training its staff through disaster management exercises with external stakeholders while also reviewing operating procedures and plans.

Council is encouraging residents to sign up to the Logan Early Warning app to get free alerts for potentially severe weather, bushfires and flood events.

The Disaster Dashboard is the place to go to for information during an event.

Residents should visit disaster.logan.qld.gov.au.

Bushfires
Council has conducted six planned burns to reduce fuel loads in key bushland reserves in Greenbank, Cornubia and Springwood.

New fire access lines will be installed in high priority parks in the suburb of Logan Village, Mt Warren, Cornubia, Daisy Hill, Shailer Park and Springwood.

Council is continuing to liaise with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) on preparations for bushfires and is also encouraging residents and property owners to prepare their land and homes for the upcoming bushfire season and heed all advice from the QFES.
