Machines are at the ready and construction on the $75 million upgrade of the Mount Lindesay Highway is about to get underway.

State Member for Logan Linus Power was today extremely pleased to announce the start date.

“The 11th of March marks the start of construction on Stoney Camp Road to Chambers Flat Road. It means jobs for locals, as well as a better and safer drive home for so many people,” Mr Power said.

“This $75 million investment means people will get home to their families quicker, and safely. This is a great day for Logan.”

Queensland based company HullSEE JV were recently announced as the company awarded the contract to undertake construction works on the Mount Lindesay Highway upgrade – Stoney Camp Road to Chambers Flat Road.

“After extensive planning for the upgrade, we are now going to see roadworks begin. On 11th March, HullSEE JV will begin preparation works on the site,” Mr Power said.

“I promised my community this upgrade and I am so proud that the Palaszczuk Government is working with the Commonwealth to deliver this very important project.”

The Mount Lindesay Highway upgrade – Stoney Camp Road to Chambers Flat Road will include four laning, upgrades to the Stoney Camp Road northbound exit ramp, new fauna rope bridges for wildlife, noise barriers for residents, as well as other important safety features.

“The state and federal governments have a 50/50 commitment to this $75 million project. The $37.5 million the state government invested adds to our total of $165 million of funded and completed projects along the Mount Lindesay Highway,” Mr Power added.

This project builds on the recently completed upgrade between Rosia Road and Stoney Camp Road, and upon completion in late 2022 will mean four lanes from Rosia Road all the way through to the Chambers Flat Road intersection, connecting to the North Maclean service lane and improved four lane intersection at Greenbank Road.
