The owner/operator of REBEL 90.5FM and BREEZE 92.1FM wants to extend its coverage area across Logan City to ensure local listeners get the best crisp clear reception of their favourite local commercial radio stations.
You can help aswell by contacting the broadcast authority (known as ACMA) and confirm you’d like their coverage areas to be extended with a stronger signal.
It’s an opportunity for you to tell ACMA that you want your favourite local radio station to sound better, stronger and get into local Logan City areas that are currently difficult to get into. (click on the link below to have your say) If the request is granted, then the stations that are clearly heard in southern Logan, would also be better heard across the greater Logan City area.
“We want to service the local community with more local news content and more locally based programming” said Program Director Aaron Jowitt.

Forde MP Bert van Manen meets with retailer
“But we need local support from politicians and local residents and businesses to get the submission over the line”.
Such support has already been witnessed by various Federal MP’s.
The member for Forde Bert Van Manen has already written to ACMA explaining “They are our local commercial radio voice”.
“With improved FM coverage, the stations are undertaking to establish Logan’s only commercial radio studio and further extend local programming, including employment of a Logan based journalist to broadcast Logan’s only commercial radio news bulletins”.
“The signal coverage upgrade will… help drive the city’s economic development” he said.

Rankin MP Jim Chalmers – supports coverage expansion by REBEL FM and BREEZE FM.
It’s a view shared by the Federal member for Rankin, Jim Chalmers. “Recently, Rankin suffered the permanent loss of the print edition of the Albert and Logan News. These stations demonstrate an existing commitment to the local community and undertake to strengthen this by establishing a Logan radio studio and news bulletins in the event their FM coverage is improved.
Here’s how YOU can support REBEL FM and BREEZE FM.
At first glance, it can look confusing. The radio market is referred to as RCRSNEZ-RA1 which is technical jargon for the REBEL FM and BREEZE FM market area.
