“Malnutrition can affect anyone,” Mr Bartholomew said.

“So, if you or someone you are caring for has recently experienced unplanned weight loss or a poor appetite, is unable to eat or is eating less than usual, it is important to speak with a doctor or health professional.”

James said the new dietitian assistant clinical support roles across Logan Hospital would help initiate early nutrition intervention for patients, and provide support and education on how to reduce malnutrition risk in hospital and in the home.
