Logan police have run another two-day RBT and hoon operation aimed at detecting a number of alcohol and drug affected drivers.
Pop up RBT sites will be used all over the Logan area over the Christmas and New Year period to promote road safety and to make sure police are able to have a presence to target traffic offenders in the right locations at the right times.
Parties, licensed premise carparks, bottle shops and local ‘rat runs’ through the suburbs are specifically being targeted leading up to Christmas.
These operations also allow for the identification and targeting of hoons gathering or travelling in groups.
Police were out in the rain Saturday night with the operation resulting in:
44 RBTs
Six defective vehicles
14 traffic infringement notices
Two drink drivers
One drug affected driver
A number of vehicles seized
A driver charged with alleged dangerous driving
Logan police have also partnered with Department of Main Roads and Transport compliance officers to bring their expertise to removing defective vehicles from the city’s roads.
