The re-location of the Loganlea Station and Park ‘n’ Ride, closer to Logan Hospital, will take place next year.
The detailed design and delivery of the project will commence early in the new year.
The re-location of Loganlea Station will deliver a range of benefits for local public transport customers and make sure it can accommodate growth in the region and deliver the most benefits to the community.
Community consultation for the Loganlea station re-location closed in October, with feedback used to refine the draft design.
The draft design for the new station and Park ‘n’ Ride, which was completed earlier this year, included a new, accessible station building, 400 additional parking spaces, better connections for passengers to local facilities including Logan Hospital, as well as improved safety through better design and lighting.

Additional features of the draft design include improved access to the station with ramps, stairs and lifts from Valencia Street and Armstrong Road, better pathway connectivity to local facilities and across the rail line, improved safety with increased visibility to the station concourse and platforms and additional lighting and CCTV, raised platforms to allow level access to trains, secure storage cage for bicycle and scooter parking, platform widening and tactile ground surface indicators on platforms, provision for fare gates to the platforms that can only be accessed by customers, as well as provision for future track and platform expansion.
The design also allows for the future expansion of the tracks and platforms, enabling the delivery of the proposed Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail.
The Queensland Government, together with the Australian Government, is planning to increase the number of tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh from two to four tracks, with modernised rail systems, station upgrades and level crossing removals.
