The Logan City police “Cross Cultural Liason unit” has recently provided new information to update the community on its team and some of its events.
Firstly, meet the team.

The unit was very honoured to be part of the Chinese Community’s recent New Year celebrations.
“It was a very well organised event with different performances by the Chinese community, with a great turnout” a unit spokesman said.
“We are now in the year of the Ox”.
The unit also recently celebrated New Zealand Waitangi Day in a cross-district event.
CCLU is currently facilitating Indigenous Community Police Consultative Group (ICPCG) meetings which are for Elders, community representatives and services who are working with our First Nations community.
It is a way to help build relationships between community and police as well as ensure we work holistically to support our Logan community.
The aims of these meetings will be to:
- providing a forum for discussing matters of concern relating to the policing of our community.
- arriving at decisions resulting from those discussions and where necessary, acting upon such decisions.
- acting as a facilitating agent through which representations can be made at local level for the purpose of improving the service provided by police.
- promoting and developing a genuine partnership between the Queensland Police Service and First Nations communities as outlined in various department and state government policies and strategies.

There was recently a very big honour for the officer in Charge, A/Sergeant Tracey Clouston who won the Queensland Police Service International Women’s Day policing award for ‘Most Outstanding female leader’.
Acting Sergeant Clouston has continually exhibited all the attributes of a strong leader within the organisation.
This award is an acknowledgement of her achievements and contributions towards improving the standing of women in the Service.
