Despite taking some time to contact our lucky winner of the Big Sky Energy competition sponsored by Big Sky Energy and My News Feed, our team finally announced the exciting news to winner Harriet Thompson.
“You’ve been a hard lady to get a hold of, I must say,” Rebel FM radio presenter Jodie Shepherd said to Mrs Thompson after making contact with her.
Mrs Thompson works full-time and only has very short break windows, which meant it was hard for our team to get in touch to break the news.
“So that’s the reason we haven’t been able to get a hold of you with some great news,” Ms Shepherd said on the winning phone call. “Have you entered any competitions that would make life a little easier? One that involved winning a solar energy package worth $10,000?”
“Behave yourself, no way!” Mrs Thompson said. “My husband is going to want to marry me again!”
Ms Shepherd asked what the biggest motivation was for Mrs Thompson to enter the competition for this exceptional prize package.
“We just got married,” Mrs Thompson said. “I’m 22, my husband is 25, and we…really want to look after the planet that our kids are living on.”
Ms Shepherd said she thought the couple are very deserving winners.
The prize includes a 5 kw Fronius, European made inverter from Austria, and 20 Canadian 330 watt Monocrystalline Split cell solar panels for your home. This 6.6 kW premium solar power system is valued at $10,000 before the STC government rebate, which is normally $6,300 out of pocket.
